The Transgression of Colombian Laws from the Macrocriminal Acts in News of a Kidnapping

Abstract

In this work, the manuscript of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, News of a Kidnapping (1996), is taken into account, which has a very peculiar narrative configuration. Its genre oscillates between novel and journalistic chronicle. This allows some inherent features in its composition to be heard, such as the fact that it addresses sociological and historical themes that comprise the turn of the century period of the 20th century in Colombia. Faced with this context, what concerns this research is to treat the macrocriminal from the perspective of the transgressive, such as justifying any action due to the ineffectiveness of the Government itself. This topic, among other related topics, will be corroborated with this literary work.
